Porcelain Inlays and Porcelain Onlays in Lansing
Comprehensive Care with Porcelain Inlays and Onlays
At Dr. Hagerty's Lansing dental office, we use porcelain inlays and onlays to help patients who need something more than a filling but something less than a crown. Porcelain inlays are made to fit between the bumps on a tooth called the cusps, while porcelain onlays are made to fit over one or more of these cusps. Because they're both made from durable dental porcelain, they support the tooth's natural structure and allow us to provide conservative dental care.
Each porcelain inlay and onlay we provide is custom-made by our lab. Because of this, treatment takes two appointments. In the first, we'll remove your old filling, or the decayed portion of your tooth, and take an impression for our lab to use as a guide. On your second appointment, we’ll put your inlay or onlay in place, and then polish and modify it as needed, finishing your restorative procedure and giving you the stronger, healthier smile you deserve.
